Teen Nearly Dies From Bull Riding[Feb. 8, 2007] DALLAS Bull riders from throughout the state are banding together to support one of their youngest riders. Dalton Blazek, 13, was almost killed in the ring after a bull fell on top of him...A benefit rodeo is taking place Saturday, February 10, in Dalton's honor. It will be held at the Ellis County Cowboy Church in Waxahachie beginning at 9 a.m.
Christian Youth Night provides alternative[Jan. 11, 2007] The 14th annual night is designed to provide an inter-denominational alternative for Wednesday night church services, youth night committee member Pat Barrow said.
Local pair ride in national rodeo[Jan. 5, 2007] Seeley, 19, who lives in Lowell, finished second recently in the bull-riding competition at the National Little Britches Rodeo in Pueblo, Colo. He would have won the national championship had he not been tossed from his second bull at the 7.2-second mark of his ride. An 8-second ride would have given him the title.
Kassi Sharp, a sophomore at Grand Valley State University from Kent City, also finished second in the National Little Britches Rodeo. Sharp, who led the competition entering the national championships, finished second in barrel racing.
