Troy teen gallops toward her dream
[Jul. 12, 2009] When Brittany Ellis was in the second grade she entered a National PTA “Anything is Possible” poster contest at her elementary school, her grandfather Jeff Ludwick recalls.“Her poster was of a little blonde-headed girl riding in a barrel race and the title was ‘Anything is possible, you can win the National Finals Rodeo.’”
 
Jones headed for national high school rodeo
[Jul. 8, 2009] MONTE VISTA — Blair Jones, a 2009 graduate of Monte Vista High School, has earned a position on the Colorado State High School Rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Farmington, N.M. July 19-25 to compete at the 61st Annual National High School Rodeo (NHSFR) in Steer Wrestling and Team Roping competitions.

[Jul. 8, 2009] For the second time in three years Troy High School junior Brittany Ellis has qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo. Ellis, her parents Brad and Sonya Ellis and her seven year old palomino gelding "Mojo" will be traveling with the Texas High School National Rodeo Team to Farmington, New Mexico from July 19-25 to compete at the 61st NHSFR finals in barrel racing.

[Jul. 5, 2009] In the course of everyday life for any given person, eight seconds is just a miniscule part of the day.
However, for someone who chooses to get on a bucking bronco, eight seconds could seem like a lifetime. Every bronc rider and bull rider is looking for that perfect eight-second ride. For those competing in saddle bronc, a lot more goes into those eight seconds than just not getting thrown from the horse. It’s all about the precision and the timing.
