[Oct. 26, 2007] Yerington-Smith Valley Rodeo Club members again came home with some top finishes from the Alamo Rodeo on Oct. 13-14, part of the Nevada High School Rodeo Association fall season.
 
Culligan and Bass earn rodeo championships
[Oct. 18, 2007] Okeechobee High School sophomore Maci Culligan earned her first high school rodeo championship at the two-day Branford rodeo held on Oct. 6 and 7. Culligan placed fourth on Saturday and first on Sunday in the breakaway competition, earning her the championship title for the weekend.
 
Heberger takes two firsts in rodeo
[Oct. 16, 2007] Elyse Heberger took away two first place finishes to lead another strong showing by the Carson/Douglas Rodeo Club this past weekend at a Nevada State High School rodeo in Alamo.
 
O.H.S. Rodeo Team starts new season with two championships
[Sep. 26, 2007] School has barely begun and the Okeechobee High School rodeo team is already hard at work.

In the first rodeo of the 2007-08 season held in Kissimmee on Sept. 8 and 9, two members of the Okeechobee High School rodeo team brought home event championships.

Although they are only 16, Nicole Klinnert and Colton Thorson are seasoned pros on the rodeo circuit, having competed since they were small children.
 
Medicine Lodge teen wins at National High School Finals rodeo
[Aug. 23, 2007] Savanna Christensen, a 15 yr. old freshman from Medicine Lodge finished first in the final round of Barrel Racing at the National High School Finals Rodeo. A veteran at rodeo events, Christensen began competing and riding barrel horses at the tender age of 6 years.

The oldest women’s sports organization in the nation is considering changes to help bring more women more opportunities in professional rodeo competition.
