Contestants Wrap-U p Activities

at the 2009 WJHFR in Gallup, New M exico


Gallup, NM - Saddles were won, buckles were presented, and scholarships were awarded as the 5th
Annual Wrangler Junior High Finals Rodeo concluded on July 4th at Red Rock Park in Gallup, New
Mexico. A total of 816 contestants from the United States, Canada, and Australia competed in this
year's Finals. Performances were featured throughout the week of June 28th, with the top twenty
athletes in each event qualifying for the championship round on Saturday, July 4th. Event cham-
pions and All-Around winners include:

All-Around Cowboy: Taylor Karney - Creston, California
All-Around Cowgirl: Ashleigh Baugh - Monticello, Arkansas
All-Around Rookie Cowboy: Trevor Kirchenschlager - Yuma, Colorado
All-Around Rookie Cowgirl: Kaci Kamm - Stanfield, Oregon
Barrel Racing: Baillie Wiseman - Aztec, New Mexico
Girls Breakaway Roping: Hannah Springer - Lavaca, Arkansas
Boys Breakaway Roping: Kolton White - Sumner, Texas

Boys Goat Tying: Cameron Irwin - Buffalo, Wyoming

The state of Oklahoma captured top team honors for this year, with Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico,
