High gas prices rope cowboys into car pooling to rodeos
[Sep. 24, 2006] There's a new element to the sad country song that is a rodeo cowboy's life. To the raging bulls, lonely nights and lingering bruises, add high gas prices.

Fuel costs hovering around $3 per gallon are wreaking havoc on the wallets of rodeo cowboys, who often drive hundreds of miles per day in beefy pickup trucks pulling horse trailers to get to the next go-round. By Nicholas K. Geranios, Associated Press

[Sep. 8, 2006] A group of Lewis County business people says that a $50 million to $80 million rodeo arena built with public and private money would provide a financial boost to the area.
