Neal McCoy was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame on August, 15th in Carthage, TX alongside fellow Texas natives, Michael Martin Murphey and Linda Davis.
The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame was initiated in 1998 to celebrate the contributions of Texans to the country music profession. The project highlights those individuals, living or dead, who are recognized nationally as outstanding in their field.
The annual showcase and induction weekend was renamed this year to, The John Ritter Tribute Showcase in honor of the late actor/comedian John Ritter, son of Country Music great Woodard Maurice "Tex" Ritter, an East Texas native and the hall's first inductee in 1998.
Neal McCoy joins a list of inductees from previous years that includes fellow native Texans Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker and Jimmy Dean.
