Fort Worth, Texas (February 20, 2010) – A full house was on hand tonight to welcome the CBR back to Nashville, Tennessee as Houston, Texas native Neil Holmes swept the Dollar General CBR Music City Shoot Out Presented by GAC .
Neil was first out on Mission Top a bull off the Women’s Fantasy Team bull team.
“I had never seen this bull before and I didn’t know what to expect, Trevor Walker told me he would go right into my hand and he did exactly that, the ride felt just like a rocking chair.” said Neil after the judges scored him a 90.5 on the ride.
Neil had the top score in the long go giving him the opportunity to choose first in the short round draft. He picked Cude Energy the infamous Cude Energy Services bull for his second ride.
I had seen him in Lubbock and several times after. I wanted to get on him because I knew I had a good chance to go the distance with him.” Neil scored a 91- giving him a 181 total, the Hy O Silver trophy spurs and the winning check.
Bull of the event was Cut a Cross Shorty (R & R Cattle CO) which Wrangler Dunda drafted in the short go and rode for a whopping 93, the highest score of the evening.
Tonight also marked the first event for this season’s Bull Team Challenge. The results are Murphy Energy Services, $23, 700, King/ Herrington $15, 200 and Women’s Fantasy Team $12, 200. For the results from tonight’s event log on to www.cbrbull.com.
