Championship Bull Riding in Huron, Two Nights, Action Packed

Fort Worth, Texas (September 3, 2009) –It was another big night in South Dakota at the Red Wilk Construction CBR Bull Bash-Presented by the South Dakota State Fair. There were several big rides of the night but Clint Craig walked away with the buckle and the check tonight. Clint was on Secret Mind -Shippy Bucking Bulls for a (91) in the long round and then went on to ride Walk the Line- Dakota Rodeo/Clay Struvie for a (91.5) giving him a 182.5 for the night. Clint had the top scores of both the long and short rounds.

Top CBR riders Jarrod Craig and Ardie Maier finished closely behind Clint. Jarrod drew Abracadabra- Benny Cude and received an 89 judge’s score. He topped that with Directory Assistance-Diedrich/Murphy in the short go with a 91 putting him closely behind Clint and in the money. Ardie tied Jarrod’s 180 score. He rode Ghost Road-Alan Murphy for 89.5 and Like Mike also of Alan Murphy for a 90.5.

All in all there were 14 high scoring rides in the qualifying rounds and several 90 + rides in the championship round. Other riders who should be mentioned because of their outstanding abilities tonight are Trent Cromier, Tag Elliot, Chad Loving, and Willis Trosclair who was the only rider to ride all his bulls during the two day event.

Kanngiesser Wins Night One in Huron

Fort Worth, Texas (September 2, 2009) – South Dakota was treated to some outstanding bull riding for night one of the Red Wilk Construction CBR Bull Bash-Presented by the South Dakota State Fair. There were fifteen high scoring rides in the long round. Twelve riders went on to compete in the short go of the evening and Cooper Kanngiesser continues his streak with another win tonight. Cooper drew the Benny Cude bull J lo 2 and scored an 88.50. For the Championship round he drew another Benny Cude bull, Cude Energy and scored a 92 for a 180.5 top score.
Cooper was closely followed by Willis Trosclair who scored a combined 179.5 on Alan Murphy’s Coffee Bean (88) and Sports Book, also an Alan Murphy bull, (91.5). Hugo Pedrero also continues his hot streak with two successful rides for a combined score of 177 on Scott Burruss’ bull Hootie (88) and Like Mike, of Alan Murphy (89).

Cody White was the long go high score with a 90.5 on Chrome Molly an Alan Murphy bull. He did not complete a successful ride in the short round. Top bull of tonight’s event was Thunder Down Under #269 Shippy Rodeo Bulls.
Tuff Hedeman and the rest of the CBR gang will be back tomorrow night and it’s ‘Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night”. Proceeds for the evening’s event will go towards the Avera Foundation, funding for breast cancer research. Tough Enough to Wear Pink activities will include merchandise sales by Double D Western Store, 50/50 drawing and the auctioning off of pink items that will be signed by SD State Fair grandstand entertainers. All fans are encouraged to show up and wear pink as all CBR riders and staff will be doing the same.

To keep the excitement going there will be live entertainment in the Beer Garden presented by Barti Metal Processing and Dakota Air Spray after the performance. Dustin Evans and The Good Times Band are scheduled to take the stage Thursday Night.
