Rodeo season starts this weekend
[Jun. 24, 2008] Fans - or people who wonder if they might be fans - can see the state’s top high school competitors this week, the top professionals in the sport a week later - and the following week it's kids from about 8 up through high school. It may be the most intense three weeks of rodeo at all levels found anywhere.
 
Christians revive Rodeo Bible camp
[May 9, 2008] For the first time in two years, kids and horses will converge on New Underwood this June to learn more about the sport of rodeo and the Bible.

Preps impress at rodeo
[Jan. 28, 2008] RAPID CITY - For the past several years the first Sunday of the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo has been dedicated to high school rodeo in South Dakota. It;s a chance for the best of the state’s young cowboys and girls to compete in front of a large crowd, to test their mettle and get ready for spring rodeos.
 
Storyteller series to spotlight rodeo history
[Jan. 28, 2008] The Saturday Storyteller Series will begin at 2 p.m. on three Saturdays at the Journey Museum, 222 New York St. The series will cover rodeo up through the decade of the 1960s. Topics include specialty acts, rodeo queens and rodeo clowns, with four participants in each storytelling session.
 
First Miss Rodeo America to reminisce for Journey exhibit
[Jan. 28, 2008] As the official sport of South Dakota, rodeo has a deep and storied history in the Black Hills. Coinciding with the 50th annual Black Hills Stock Show, rodeo will be the theme of the Journey Museum’s "The Color of Rodeo," the third installation of "The History of Rodeo in the Black Hills."
 
Volker quickest at timed-event rodeo challenge
[Oct. 31, 2007] RAPID CITY - For the second year Allen and Beth Good of Long Valley enlisted the aid of their friends and family to put something back into rodeo, a unique timed-event challenge, where each contestant has to participate in calf roping, steer wrestling, and both the heading and heeling of the team roping.
 
Fourth annual Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series ends with high marked rides
[Oct. 30, 2007] The 2007 Fourth Annual Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series came to a close this past weekend (October 26-27) at the Pennington County Events Center, in Rapid City, S.D. The event brought together a "Who's Who" of rodeo cowboys and NFR stock for two top notch Roughstock performances.
 
Rodeo: Top riders to gather this weekend
[Oct. 26, 2007] Billed as “the best of the eight-second rides,” the fourth-annual Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series is set to finish with the first of two performances tonight, with the finals Saturday at the Pennington County Events Center.
 
Rapid City to host 4th Annual Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series
[Oct. 18, 2007] Four-time world champion and Hall of Fame bareback rider Marvin Garrett has spent much of his career making a name for himself in the arena, but he is now taking on a new rodeo role as event producer of the Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series. Garrett is looking to take the series to new heights, so what better place to do that then in his homestate of South Dakota.
