Coyote Country Rodeo Club started in 1993 when a group of rodeo enthusiast decided to bring back to Vermillion the rodeo tradition. In 1967 the rode arena was built and even hosted the College National Finals for several years. The arena hosted as many as 5 big events each year. By the late 1980's the rodeos had died away and the arena began to decay. When the group started in 1993 they held the first Bull-a-Rama at the 4-H grounds. In 2000 they went to the Clay County Park Board with the idea of refurbishing the old Clay County Park Arena. The rest is history. Lots of community support has put a bright new look on the old arena. For the last several years the committee has booked the Extreme Bullriding Tour for their annual Bull-a-Rama. This year will mark their 14th Annual event which actually begins on August 24th with the Welcoming of the Bulls. The bulls will be unloaded at 7 PM and there will be a Hog Roast at the rodeo grounds. Admission to watch the unloading is free.

On Saturday at 11 AM to 2 PM at the Pump 'n Pak in Vermillion there will be a special autograph session with bulls, bullfighters, barrelman, Shawn "Boom Boom" Thompson, and several of the riders including reigning Extreme Bullriding Tour champion, Jimmy Twedt, on hand to meet fans and sign autographs. Also on hand will be western artist Ray Kelly displaying his art which will also be available for purchase.

As a special attraction the event will include an open class bull riding limited to the first 5 paid bull riders. Man event riders not accepted. There will be 3 places paid back. Ages 8-12 can get involved in the calf riding. There will be no entry fee for the calf riding. Entries for these two events began on August 1st by calling Brooks Goeden (605) 665-5286 5 PM to 9 PM

There will also be a mutton bustin' with registration unlimited. It will be the luck of the draw with only 15 contestants selected to ride. Names will be drawn at the actual Bull-a-Rama on Saturday night.

There will be fireworks and a dance following the bull riding.
