Guymon rodeo among largest[Apr. 28, 2008] This Panhandle city is home to one of Oklahoma's largest professional rodeos. It's often said more PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) world champion cowboys compete in the Pioneer Days Rodeo than at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Usually, at least 12 of the top 15 world rankings are timed or scored in the Guymon arena. Last year, this rodeo ranked 10th largest of all PRCA rodeos (more than 800 are held) and was the fifth largest of outdoor rodeos, according to the Pioneer Days Rodeo Web site.
Three former world champs compete in OKC[Feb. 16, 2008] The Copenhagen Bull Riding Challenger Tour Championship presented by Dickies is the second richest event in PBR history. Naturally, an event paying out that kind of money would draw the likes of three former World Champions – Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers and Mike Lee – to the Ford Center in Oklahoma City.
Jenkins a favorite in Oklahoma City[Feb. 16, 2008] The Sooner state is like a second home for L.J. Jenkins. The 20-year-old New Mexico resident recently purchased 240 acres of land in Oklahoma and hopes to make his home there within the next couple of years. In the meantime, Jenkins is in Oklahoma City this weekend hoping to add $500,000 to his career win total.
Annual Ranger Rodeo starts Thursday[Nov. 1, 2007] The annual Ranger Rodeo presented by Northwestern Oklahoma State University will have its opening performance at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Woods County Fairgrounds Arena. More than 500 student competitors from 20-plus colleges and universities are expected to participate.

Cowboys drive 450 longhorns along Chisholm Trail[Sep. 10, 2007] "Head 'em up and move 'em out", that's what Oklahoma cowboys are doing as they prepare to drive 450 head of longhorn cattle across the Chisholm Trail. It's a centennial event, but the month long cattle drive also marks the 140th anniversary of the famous trail.
Prison rodeo set for weekend[Aug. 17, 2007] McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - The annual prison rodeo at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary runs through Saturday, with 1,000 inmates at 10 state prisons participating in bull riding and other events.
Team ropers take top prize in Oklahoma rodeo[Jul. 25, 2007] Rodee Walraven, of Datil, and Beau Marshall, of Truth or Consequences, claimed the International Finals Youth Rodeo Team Roping Championship in Shawnee, Okla., held July 9-14.
