
On July 18th the Fillmore County Fair will host its first Extreme Bullriding Tour event. The tour which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year is not new to the area. It has been a standard at both Scotia and Comstock among other Nebraska cities over the last decade. The tour has become known not only for its outstanding competition but for the professionalism of the personnel that it brings to its events. Announcing will be Brandon McLagan who will be joined by 23 times Funnyman of the Year, Shawn “Boom Boom” Thompson.
Although Geneva may be the newest stop on the tour it is also the stop with the highest added money for the year. With $4000 in added money the Fillmore County Fair has guaranteed that it will have the top riders in the Midwest competing. Thirty-seven bull riders have entered the event which wll be sanctioned by the National Federation of Professional Bullriders (NFPB) and the Bullriders Of America (BOA). Craig Sassie - St. Peters, Ill 3x PBR World Finals Qualifier
Seth Reynolds - PRCA Prairie Circuit Champion
Jessie Schelhammer - PBR World Finals Qualifier
Steven Lile - 2 X BOA Champion & 2 X Extreme Bull Riding Tour Champion
There will not only be top notched riders but the bulls of the Double S Bull Company owned by Shad Smith of Sidney, Iowa have won their share of awards and will be ready to give the riders lots of twist and turns. Double S Bull Company will also be providing the Mexican fighting bulls that will be used in the Midwest Bullfighters Association sanctioned four man bullfight. With the growing popularity of freestyle bullfighting added to the activities the evening is assured to be one fans will not forget very soon.
As an extra added attraction Colby and Weston Crase, sons of Todd and Tammy Crase founders of White Buffalo Productions the production side of the Extreme Bullriding Tour will be giving an exposition of the trampoline skills that has won them so many awards both on the state and national level.
The evening will conclude with a dance featuring Mark Keaton and Aces High Band.
