[Jul. 12, 2009] COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Rodeo star Dan Mortensen of Billings was the best in the business for a long time. Now he's been honored as among the best of all-time.Mortensen, who matched the record of the legendary Casey Tibbs with six world saddle bronc championships, was officially inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame here Saturday.
 
Bozeman Bull Riders Hang On, Despite Economy

Billings Cowboy To Be Added To Rodeo Hall Of Fame
[Jul. 7, 2009] BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) ― Billings cowboy and saddle bronc rider Dan Mortensen will be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame this weekend.
Mortensen, a seven-time world champion, was one of six cowboys voted in by the ProRodeo Hall of Fame Selection Committee in March.

At the end of round two, current world no. 1 Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) found himself at the top of the leader board after scoring 91 points on the bull, SoulJa Boy, owned by Priest Creek Ranch.

(April 17, 2009) - Stop #18 on the Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) prestigious Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) sent the top 40 bull riders to Billings, Mont., for The NIILE Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark played host to the world’s best riders as they took on the toughest bulls in the industry on Friday, April 17 for the first of three performances. In the end, current world no. 1 bull rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) took the round one victory after riding the bull, Tire Rama, owned by Chad Berger/Clay Struve, for 88.75 points. He added $7,000 to his 2009 BFTS World Standings.
