Fort Worth, Texas (August 22, 2009) ~ Jake Littlefield of West Point, MS. wins the Bossier City, LA. Championship in front of a standing room only crowd at the CenturyTel Center for the El Dorado Resort Casino Shreveport Tuff Hedeman Louisiana Shootout.
Jake scored a 89 on Cut-A-Cross Shorty ( King Harrington Silverado Rodeo) in the long go and came back to score a 87.5 on Cude Energy (Benny Cude Bucking Bulls) for a combined 176.5.
“I have worked hard all year and it has paid off,” stated an enthusiastic Jake, “It looks like I can look forward to Kansas City and I hope to continue to do well until then. I want to thank everyone who has supported me, most importantly, Benny Cude, my sponsor.”
Jake was closely followed by top contenders Cody White who scored a 90.5 in the long go and Ardie Maier who rode, Sports Book, for a 91 in the short round. Jakes’ combined score gave him the advantage in the end.
Kudos goes to Tut Henry and Cochise, the high scoring bull of the event. Cochise was the bounty bull and scored a 47 when Willis Trosclair, a Louisiana native, attempted to ride him for a $5,000 bonus. Cochise also a Louisiana native, remains un-ridden and the number one bull in the world.
The Team Bull Challenge debut was a huge success. All available bidding slots were filled and the $20,000 top prize was paid out to stock contactor Scott Burruss, bringing the total to $55,000 to be paid out at this event.
The evening was also highlighted by local radio personality Hillary of the Hillary and Buck show on KRMD Country, who attempted to ride “The Cajun Killer” during intermission. Unfortunately, Hillary was not successful at her attempt.
In addition, Great American County (GAC) and hostess Suzanne Alexander, were on hand to tape the next edition of The Top 20 Countdown on GAC.
