Hugo Pedrero Is 2009 CBR World Champion
JW Harris Wins Kansas City Championship

Fort Worth, Texas (November 1, 2009) ~ The sun was shining and the weather was warm on the first day of November in Kansas City-and it was a perfect ending to the 2009 CBR Tour presented by Mahindra. In what Donnie Gary labeled as “The Best Bull Riding of the Season” The Carter Energy 2009 CBR Tour Finale wrapped up the most successful Tour CBR has produced so far.

Leon, Mexico native Hugo Pedrero rose through the ranks this year to overcome injuries and land himself at the top of the standings Friday night. Coming into the final day was nerve racking for the young cowboy, whose family flew in from Mexico to watch him ride. Hugo drew Soul Train in the long round and scored 88.5, securing his lead over Jarrod Craig and Ardie Maier who were both unsuccessful Friday night. The competition did get a little touchy when Jarrod scored an 89.5 on Gold Digger. Unfortunately Jarrod did not score enough points to land him in the short round and his opportunity to catch Hugo was lost.

“This is an unbelievable experience, I don’t even know what to say”, said Hugo- hoisting his buckle and CBR cup over his head. Hugo also won the year-end bonus of $100,000.

J W Harris was the event winner- with a 271.5 final score. JW is the reigning 2008 PRCA World Champion and is heading into the Wrangler NFR this December with another good shot to win it again.

“This is one of the best events I have been to all year- the short round was unbelievable. It is a great warm up for me going into the NFR.”

Bull of the event was Cocktail with a 48 score. Cocktail is owned by Trent West/Cervi Championship Bull Riding. It was a good weekend for Cocktail who also won the 2009 CBR Bull of the Year. 2009 Stock Contractor of the year was awarded to Alan Murphy.

The complete 2009 standings will be listed at www.CBRbull.com <http://www.CBRbull.com> . Jarrod Craig finished second in the CBR standings and Chad Castillo was third.
