Saturday, July 26th while many Iowa rodeo fans were gathering at Rhodes, Iowa, for the Annual Larry Shuey Memorial Bull Riding a life-flight helecopter flew over very low. Word spread that there had been a fatal 3 car crash on the highway coming into Rhodes. Then word spread that it was Mike and Pam Schau from Clemons, Iowa. They had slowed to turn towards Rhodes and were rear ended and pushed into oncoming traffic. If youv'e roped in Iowa High School Rodeo or Iowa College Rodeo or for that matter in Iowa you probably threw your rope around a Schau calf at some point in time. Slowly the Iowa rodeo community learned that Pam had been killed instantly and that Mike was life-flighted to Des Moines. Many in Iowa rodeo will remember seeing Pam watching her family compete or visiting with her at the family business Diamond S Saddlery in Clemons. The whole Rodeo Attitude sends are sympathy to the family.
