Jimmy Twedt Wins BOA Year-End Championship
Cory Griebel Wins MWB Year-End Championship

The Bullriders Of America (BOA) held their finals on October 16 - 17, 2009 at the Tri State Rodeo Arena located in Fort Madison, Iowa. The top riders of the BOA competed in four rounds of competition on the top bulls provided by the stock contractors of the association. After two days of tough cometition it was Jimmy Twedt who took home the prized Year-End Championship and the Bob Berg buckle. Jimmy and Willy Ropp fought a hard battle all year long for this award. Willy did have the satisfaction of going home as the event champion winning the average by riding all four of his bulls for 344 points and $ 1,608.75 pay check plus his own Bob Berg buckle.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a special tribute for Evan Hecht, BOA Top 25 Qualifier, who is serving our country in Iraq and was unable to be at the BOA Finals. The tribute was led by singer Mark Keaton, Lincoln, NE. Mark sang "God Bless America" and Hecht's brother David entered the arena to receive his brothers finals jacket for him. What made this so special was that David who had been seriouly injured in a rodeo accident was doing so with the aid of a walker and that he could do so at all was a tribute to his own courage and strength. To his surprise the tribute was not just for Hecht as it was for him as well. All the bull riders and personal came out into the arena to salute the two young men who both are members of the BOA. David who thought he was there to accept his brothers jacket was totally surprised by the tribute. A special thanks to Hannah Hilsabeck, Winterset, IA who carried the American flag and sponsor flags at both performances. Another special thanks goes to the 2009 BOA Girls who where on hand to sell BOA T-shirts and Sweat Shirts. Congratulations to all those who sold these items over the entire season. They raised enough money to pay for both the BOA Finals and Year End Champion Saddle. Results Bullriders Of America Finals
