Dalton Baumann
May 28, 1992 - May 15, 2007
Dalton Baumann was killed in an automobile accident on his way to school the morning of May 15th, 2007. He was very active in the High School Rodeo Association and enjoyed hauling with his grandmother, Karen Orman, to numerous rodeos and events throughout the year. Dalton always had a rope in his hand and great big smile that lit up when you saw him.
A barrel race, round robin roping, live auction, and a benefit dance has been organized to assist Dalton’s family with funeral and other expenses on June 30th in Winterset, Iowa.
Schedule of Events – arena times are approximate – RAIN OR SHINE
9:00 am - 11:00 am Exhibition barrels ($3 each, 1 min. time limit, no circling, cash at gate)
11:30am - 5:00pm Open 4D barrel race ($30 entry fee)
Approx 5:00pm Dinner and introduction of family
5:30 pm Live Auction Begins
Not before 6:30 – 10:30pm Round Robin Team Roping Event ($150 entry fee per person
8:00 pm Sharp Dance ($5 cover charge)
Barrel Race: 4D barrel Race, 70% payback, Over $1000 in added money, $30 entry fee per horse, pre-entries are to be sent in by June 22nd and checks made payable to Dalton Bauman Benefit, 1405 235th Trail, Winterset, IA 50273-8417 - Late entries taken on site day of race - $10 late fee per horse and you will be added to the end of the pre-draw. Dress code of Long shirts, western boots, and hats.
Team Roping: $500 added Round Robin Roping, limited to 10 teams, $150 entry fee per person. Call-ins taken June 18th @ 515-462-2245 (leave a message if no answer) (or send email to flying5ranch@earthlink.net) Entry fees to be sent in to address above by June 22nd to hold spot in Round Robin.

An account has been set up in Dalton’s name at Union State Bank in Winterset, Iowa - all donations and proceeds from this event will be given to Dalton’s family.
