JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 19, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) took Jacksonville, Fla., by storm as the top 45 bull riders in the world invaded the Jacksonville Veteran’s Memorial Arena for stop #28 on the elite tour. Number three bull rider in the world Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) took The Built Ford Tough Shootout round one victory after riding Chance, owned by Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC, for 90 points.

Last weekend’s BFTS event winner J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) split second and third place with Canadian alternate Vince Northrop (Davidson, SK, Canada) as they each scored 88.5 points. Mauney took on Renegade Rodeo’s Gray Spot while Northrop tamed Top Notch Jap, owned by Top Notch Bucking Bulls. Rounding out fourth place was Nebraska’s Dustin Elliott (North Platte, Neb.) who rode Jeff Robinson/Anchor Bull Company’s bull Encore for 88.25 points.

As the winner of round two at the U.S. Border Patrol Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, Team Enterprise rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of The Built Ford Tough Shootout in Jacksonville. As Lostroh covered his bull, Chance (Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC), he pocketed the $5,000 bonus.

The Built Ford Tough Shootout continues tomorrow as the world’s best bull riders compete in round two and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to see who will take home the 2008 Jacksonville BFTS event title. The event airs on VERSUS at 8 p.m. EST on Saturday, September 20 and at 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 21.

INJURY REPORT:

L.J. Jenkins (Texico, N.M.) broke his right collarbone after riding his round one bull, Tony’s Promise (Tony Sharp). He will be out of competition for an undetermined amount of time.
