
PUEBLO, Colo. (December 31, 2008) - Beginning on January 12, northern Colorado residents will have a chance to witness several of the PBR’s superstars in action at two stops on the 2009 Professional Bull Riders Minor-League tour. “The Mile High City,” Denver, and Pueblo, home to PBR Headquarters, will play host to these two premiere events.
The PBR will take over Denver Coliseum on January 12-14 where over $80,000 in prize money will be up for grabs with each night’s performance beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. Attendees can look forward to seeing riders that include reigning PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil), 2008 reserve World Champ J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.), and top PBR riders like Cord McCoy (Tupelo, Okla.), Brian Canter (Randleman, N.C.), and Matt Bohon (Cole Camp, Mo.). For one-night only, forty PBR bull riders will invade the Colorado State Fair Events Center in Pueblo, Colo., on Thursday, January 15, starting at 7:30 p.m. Riders in attendance include 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) and Colorado superstars Kody Lostroh (La Salle, Colo.) and Josh Koschel (Greeley, Colo.). For four intense evenings of non-stop PBR action, fans will have a chance to see two World Champions; five World Finals Event Champions including 2008 winner Robson Palermo (Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil) and 2006 titlist L.J. Jenkins (Texico, N.M.); 44 past World Finals qualifiers; five past PBR Rookie of the Year winners including 2008 PBR Daisy Rookie of the Year Reese Cates (Carthage, Texas) and 2001 Rookie of the Year Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.); 29 current Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) riders; and international riders from Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico.
The PBR Minor-League tour system caters to both current and future stars. All prize money won while competing on the Copenhagen Challenger Tour, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour, and Discovery Tour will count towards qualifications for the lucrative 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals and the 2009 Challenger Tour Finals.
