The Cody Nite Rodeo hosted the Dusty Tuckness/Kanin Asay Classic on June 14th at the Stampede Grounds. The night featured a freestyle bullfight event and bull riding.

The idea for the classic was born many years ago when Dusty and Kanin were really young and spending every night at the Nite Rodeo. They had talked with Maury Tate

about the idea and this year Maury just said we are doing it.

Both Tuckness and Asay are doing well and the classic makes for a great opportunity for the Nite Rodeo's two brightest stars to come home. Tuckness is looking for a

good summer run to make the National Finals Rodeo in December of which last year he was an alternate. He won a 2008 BullFighting Title, and recently teamed with Andy

Burelle to win the Cord McCoy Invitational in Ada, Okla. Kanin Asay has two straight NFR appearances and is currently fourth in the world standings.

The event featured three rounds of bull riding, two rounds of bullfighting and a round of junior steer riding, with 30 Bull Riders and 8 Bullfighters.
