Page 4 of 6 1 2 3 4 5 6 Rodeo Queen hosts a special rodeo[Aug. 28, 2007] On Sunday, Aug. 19, Becca Barnes, Junior Miss Rodeo Tehachapi 2006, inspired many community members to volunteer their time, while creating a great opportunity for children with special needs to participate in rodeo activities.
Special rodeo activities included calf roping, bullriding, barrel racing, and horseback riding. The children were escorted through the events by a cowboy, a rodeo queen, or rodeo queen contestant and each child received a signed photo taken with their special rodeo escort. Each participant also received a cowboy hat, bandanna and “sheriff badge” name tag.

Police Women and Rodeo Clowns Heroes in Freak Rodeo Inident[Aug. 22, 2007] Two rampaging bulls broke free from their steel pen at the California State Fair on Sunday night - then tossed a 55-year-old police officer in the air, trampled a horse and terrified a grandstand full of onlookers. As the bulls snorted and raged, one rodeo clown scooped up a small child and carried him over a fence to safety.
