PUEBLO, Colo. (July 28, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) turns up the heat at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona on August 1-2, 2008 for the Built Ford Tough Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. Stop #25 on the prestigious Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) will showcase the top 45 bull riders in the world with action getting underway on Friday at 7:50 p.m. and on Saturday at 6:50 p.m.

For as little as $10, fans will see full-throttle action – PBR style – with the toughest men on dirt taking on the top bovine athletes in the country. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com, in person at the Jobing.com Arena Box Office, or by phone at 480 784 4444. Fans will be treated to two and a half hours of rock & roll music, pyrotechnics, and edge of your seat thrills and spills.

Topping the list of competitors are PBR World Champions, Ednei Caminhas (P. Alves, SP, Brazil) (2002) and Mike Lee (Decatur, TX) (2004). Also riding will be current world number one and winner of the last BFTS event in Edmonton, Alberta, Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil). These three top cowboys will ride alongside the legendary Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil) in this two-day man vs. beast competition. Moraes, PBR’s only three-time World Champion (1994, 2001, & 2006), announced earlier this year that 2008 will be his last season on the elite BFTS tour; therefore, this is Glendale’s last chance to see the most decorated rider in PBR history in action.

The Built Ford Tough Invitational presented by Cooper Tires consists of three rounds of competition with the first two rounds featuring the top 45 bull riders randomly matched against the PBR’s toughest bulls. The scores from the two rides will be combined and the riders with the top 15 scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round after intermission on Saturday. In the end, the cowboy with the highest total score on three bulls will be declared the winner!

The PBR is the premiere bull riding organization in the world, boasting contestants from the United States, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Canada, Its events air weekly on VERSUS, NBC, and FOX and in recent years it has been tagged the ‘fastest growing sport in the country.’ For more information on the Built Ford Tough Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, please visit www.pbrnow.com or call Katharine Sherrer at 719 242 2800 ext. 3372.
