Forty of the top Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) bull riders in the world go up against the some of the best bulls in the PRCA when the Dodge Xtreme Bulls Tour, presented by B&W Trailer Hitches stops at the Laughlin (NV) Event Center on April 12th and 13th. The event will consist of two matinee performances each scheduled to start at 1 p.m. PT. This will be the fifth stop on the eight-city Tour. The Tour will be back in Nevada in June when it will be a part of the Reno Rodeo.
The bull riders will be competing for a shot at a total purse of $50,000 and placement in the Dodge Xtreme Bulls Standings plus earnings on the tour count toward the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings, which determines qualifiers for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, December 4th through 13th in Las Vegas, NV.
All 40 riders will compete in the first two rounds on Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th. Following the second round, the top 12 riders will be immediately brought back for the final round, where the Laughlin champion will be crowned based on the highest total score on three bulls.
Reigning PRCA World Champion Bull Rider. Wesley Silcox, Payson, UT, highlights the star-studded field, which also includes two other {RCA World Champions – B.J. Schumacher, Hillsboro, WS (2006) and Cody Hancock of Taylor, AZ (2000). Also scheduled to compete are three Dodge Xtreme Bulls Tour National Champions: Kanin Asay, Powell, WY (2007); Zeb Lanham, Sweet, ID (2006); and Mike Moore, Kankakee, IL (2003). Moore, who won the Tour’s last stop in Houston and earned $18,396, will be hoping to be a repeat champion.
Highlights of the Laughlin tour stop will air on ESPN on July 5 at 1 p.m. ET, with an encore presentation scheduled for July 12 at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
