Crowd energy helped bull rider Mike Moore win the RodeoHouston Xtreme Bulls top prize. Moore was the only rider to make the whistle on two bulls.

“There is just so much energy here,” Moore said. “The fans are so into rodeo. They are so knowledgeable about rodeo.”

Although he said he did not know about the bulls before he got on them, he believes that the man who tries hardest will win in the long-run.

“It’s like NASCAR™,” Moore said. “Nobody wants a wreck to happen, but if it does, they want to see it.”

Runner-up Chance Smart said, “You step out and hear the people react; it gives you the cold chills thinking about it. You hear the fans yelling for you; there is no other experience like it, the fans are great.”

“Xtreme Bulls is completely for the cowboys,” Smart said. “The extra money and allowing us to compete is great. Xtreme Bulls is great for the contestants and the community.”

Moore received $18,936.30, while Smart took home $16,379.50.
