INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 31, 2006) -- The Dodge Xtreme Bulls 2006 Ride Hard Tour will make its first-ever stop in Indianapolis at the Pepsi Coliseum, Indiana State Fairgrounds for two nationally televised events on ESPN and ESPN2. A Dodge Xtreme Bulls FFA Special Edition event will be held on Oct. 27 in conjunction with the National FFA Convention. On Oct. 28, the 2006 Dodge Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale event will crown a new Xtreme Bulls National Champion. Tickets for the Oct. 28 event go on sale Friday, Sept. 1 and can be purchased through the Indiana State Fair Box Office at 317-927-1482 or via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $20, $35 and $50.
Forty of the world’s top bull riders will converge on the Pepsi Coliseum to take their shot at a $125,000 purse and the 2006 Dodge Xtreme Bulls championship title. Several world champions including 2000 world champion Cody Hancock from Taylor, Ariz., 2004 world champion Dustin Elliott from North Platte, Neb., and reigning world champion and series point leader Matt Austin from Wills Point, Texas, will compete in the Xtreme Bulls Indianapolis events.
Indianapolis will also welcome the baddest, meanest, rankest one-ton athletes in the world. These bulls have thrown cowboys at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Houston, San Antonio, Cheyenne and many points in between.
“You can’t have a great bull ride without a great bull and this tour always has great bulls, Hancock noted. “It allows for some fantastic match-ups and exciting rides.”
On Oct. 28, the Dodge Xtreme Bulls 2006 Ride Hard Tour Finale format will have all 40 riders compete beginning at 8 p.m. After the first ride, the top 12 will be immediately brought back for the final round to ride for the event championship. In addition, a new 2006 Dodge Xtreme Bulls Ride Hard Tour National Champion will be crowned that night, based on monies earned throughout the 2006 season.
Both events will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2 with eight-time PRCA world champion bull rider Donnie Gay handling the color commentary. The ESPN2 telecasts are scheduled to air on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, as part of a three-hour Xtreme Bulls block of programming beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. Both ESPN and ESPN2 reach 90 million U.S. households.
Xtreme Bulls is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the oldest and largest rodeo sanctioning body in the world. The Dodge Xtreme Bulls 2006 Ride Hard Tour presented by B&W Trailer Hitches is produced by Winnercomm, America’s largest independent sports production company.
