FORT WORTH. - Four years ago J.W. Harris of May, Texas won the Xtreme Bull Riding here. At the time Harris was 19, not very well known and scrapping his way from rodeo to rodeo. Now he is the reigning world champion bull rider and is leading the bull riding at the 113rd Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo.

Fresh off his Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) championship and sitting first in every category here in the bull riding, the young bull rider is already mapping a plan for the 2009 NFR in December and defending his title. He has scores of 82 and 83 for a total of 165 points which will mostly likely get him to the final round.

Saddle bronc rider Bradley Harter, from Weatherford, Texas; returned from the National Western Stock Show in Denver, after being crowned champion, to ride his first of three horses. With a solid ride of 77 points, Harter’s momentum here is rolling.

Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo presented by the Southeastern Exposition and Livestock Show, goes pink for the seventh performance, Tuesday, Jan., 27, at the 7:30 p.m. Breast cancer survivors will be honored with free tickets to the evening’s rodeo. Plus, in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 50% of all general admission and rodeo ticket sales from the day's events will be donated to this worthy cause. Tyson Durfey, who won the first round here in the tie-down roping, is a one of rodeo’s biggest advocates of Komen For The Cure and donates a portion of each of his winnings checks to the cause.
