FORT WORTH, TX - Kaycee Feild, came to the Fort Worth to win and that is exactly how he is heading out of Cowtown. Feild from Elk Ridge, Utah, set the pace in the bareback riding. He now leads all three rounds and the overall standings.

“I came to Fort Worth to win,” says Feild. “I drew good horses and it’s pretty cool to be leaving here on top,” he added. He and traveling partner Tilden Hooper of Carthage, Texas are the only two bareback riders to successfully ride all three horses. They are heading to Denver where Hooper has qualified for the final round of The National Western Stock Show Rodeo.

Local steer wrestler Blake Doyle of Granbury,Texas, proved that three-second times were not just for the pre-rodeo competition. Doyle threw his steer in 3.8 seconds in the second performance to tie for sixth place in the first round. He will be back at Will Rogers Coliseum Sunday afternoon for his second steer.

Bullrider Patrick Geipel of Elbert, Colo., took the advantage away from the bulls by making the first qualified bull ride of the rodeo and eight seconds later Geipel was awarded an 82 points for his effort.

Rodeo action continues Sunday, Jan., 24, with the fourth and fifth performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
