The Clark County Fair and Rodeo, which runs from April 10th to April 13th, is making its fifth consecutive appearance on the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour. Cowboys and cowgirls competing in the four performance will be after a part of a purse which exceeded $250,000 in 2007. They will also receive points that apply toward the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour and entry into the Ariat Playoffs series, an exciting four-rodeo showdown starting in August in Caldwell, Idaho.
Logandale, located approximately 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas, will be the ninth stop on the 26-city Wrangler Pro-Rodeo Tour. This is the first of two Silver State stops on the 2008 tour schedule. The Reno Rodeo hosts the 15th stop June 20th through June 28th.
Last year in Logandale, all but one of the rodeo’s average champions ultimately qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. These champions were highlighted by steer wrestler Todd Suhn of Brighton, CO, who won an event-best $6,706 after downing four steers in 19.6 seconds. Also earned big paydays to help springboard their efforts to the world’s premier rodeo were bareback rider and 2005 World Champion Kelly Timberman of Mills, WY; team ropers Jake Barnes of Scottsdale, AZ./Clay O’Brien Cooper of Morgan Mill, TX; saddle bronc rider Jesse Bail of Camp Crook, SD.; tie-down roper Matt Shiozawa of Chubbuck, ID; and bull rider Marcus Michaelis of Caldwell, ID,
