Countdown: Houston enters final week[Mar. 17, 2008] One week from now, the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings will take on a distinctly different look, fresh off the conclusion of RodeoHouston, which will pay $50,000 to each event champion on March 22 (team ropers will share a $55,000 prize). Making history: RodeoHouston's first two Super Series in the books[Mar. 10, 2008] Two defending RodeoHouston champions kept alive their hopes of a repeat title during weekend action as the rodeo’s second Super Series came to an end. Bobby Mote, the reigning and two-time world champion bareback rider whose $56,833 won in Houston last year paved the way for his 2007 world title, and tie-down roper Houston Hutto, who led the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings for most of the 2007 regular-season after his Houston victory, are among eight contestants in each event (eight teams in team roping) to have advanced to RodeoHouston’s semifinal round. Despite twister, show to go on in Lake City[Mar. 10, 2008] The Florida Gateway Pro Rodeo in Lake City, Fla., the site of Friday’s tornado that left one dead, damaged or destroyed 60 homes and 10 businesses and left a trail of devastation 2 miles long, will go on as scheduled this weekend. RodeoHouston brings back bracket for 2008's richest regular-season rodeo[Mar. 3, 2008] In the spirit of March Madness and the NCAA Basketball Championships, RodeoHouston’s bracket-style battle goes into full effect tonight, with the $1.3 million rodeo running through the culminating Shootout Round on March 22. The rodeo will bestow $50,000 checks ($27,500 per man in team roping) on its shootout champions for the second straight year, virtually assuring them of spots in the 50th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
