Six pack: Dodge Xtreme Bulls begins new season in Rapid City, S.D.[Jan. 23, 2008] For some PRCA bull riders, Xtreme Bulls can be a ticket to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. That certainly was the case for 2007 Xtreme Bulls National Champion Kanin Asay, who picked up $72,126 of his $144,823 pre-NFR earnings at Xtreme Bulls events last year and finished second in the final Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings.
Austin official receives honor[Jan. 23, 2008] Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo General Manager Bucky Lamb was named Professional of the Year at the Texas Association of Fairs and Events (TAF&E) Annual Convention and Trade Show, held Jan. 10-13 in Austin, Texas. Lamb was honored at the opening dinner of the convention, where he was praised for his leadership, dedication and innovation in the fair industry.
National Western sets records[Jan. 23, 2008] History was made Jan. 19 at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver when the show sold 68,610 tickets, the largest crowd in its 102-year history. The previous record was 68,357, set in 1999.

Mote, Johnson highlight Odessa champs[Jan. 14, 2008] Bobby Mote didn't take long to start his world-title defense. Mote, of Culver, Ore., who just one month ago hoisted his second world championship gold buckle in bareback riding, earned a share of the title at the 75th SandHills Stock Show and Rodeo in Odessa, Texas.
Start your engines: Denver marks 'official' start to ’08 season[Jan. 14, 2008] Most cowboys recognize the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver as the start of the yearlong road that ends with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo 11 months later. Although it got under way with two performances last weekend, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo starts in earnest on Jan. 17 and continues through Jan. 27 at the Denver Coliseum.

The road begins again: Wrangler Tour’s new 2008 schedule starts in Odessa[Jan. 7, 2008] The 2008 edition of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour officially got under way Jan. 4 at the SandHills Stock Show and Rodeo in Odessa, Texas. The Odessa rodeo gives cowboys and cowgirls their first chance to count earnings toward qualification into the Ariat Playoffs series that was introduced to overwhelming approval in 2007.
