PRCA launches innovative Heartland ProRodeo Series in October[Aug. 31, 2007] In its relentless efforts to grow the cowboy sport and increase prize money for contestants, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is launching an ambitious new enterprise with the start of the 2008 season in October – the Heartland ProRodeo Series.
The concept offers added support to the majority of PRCA rodeos, those with a total added committee purse of up to $30,000, by bringing them together in a series that concludes with a rich and prestigious championship event. The Heartland ProRodeo Series Championships in Waco, Texas, scheduled for Oct. 3-11, 2008, will have minimum prize money of $400,000 and as much as $500,000.
FSN kicks off Ariat Playoff coverage with Caldwell Round[Aug. 31, 2007] Fox Sports Network (FSN) begins its coverage of the 2007 Wrangler ProRodeo Tour and Ariat Playoffs, Monday, Sept. 3 with the Caldwell Round in select regions. The Caldwell Round will be featured in a total of three one-hour telecasts during the first three weeks of September on 15 FSN regional telecasts. Each one-hour show will be aired a minimum of two times. Visit www.prorodeotour.com for dates and times in your area.
Rodeo limits change for 2008[Aug. 30, 2007] The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's board of directors voted recently to increase the rodeo limits for bareback riding and bull riding for the 2008 season.
