Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo General Manager Bucky Lamb was named Professional of the Year at the Texas Association of Fairs and Events (TAF&E) Annual Convention and Trade Show, held Jan. 10-13 in Austin, Texas. Lamb was honored at the opening dinner of the convention, where he was praised for his leadership, dedication and innovation in the fair industry.
Lamb served as livestock manager for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo from 1994-2000 and has served as general manager in Austin, Texas, for the last eight years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and a Master of Science degree in Beef Cattle Science from Texas A&M. Prior to that, he was raised on ranches in Wyoming and Texas and participated in the International FFA program, working in France, Belgium and West Germany as a young adult.
The Professional of the Year award was created by TAF&E to recognize standout members for their tireless service and exemplary commitment to their events and to the association. TAF&E exists to provide inspiring leadership, create agriculture and education opportunities and develop strategies that enhance and advance the fair and special events industry, consisting of events and organizations from across the state ranging in size.
