Results posted from Thursday's Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo[Jul. 10, 2009] COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Thursday night at Norris Penrose Stadium sounded a lot like the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo held annually in Las Vegas, Nev. with numerous well-known cowboys competing for top honors at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo.
90th Belle Fourche Round Up Closes With a Bang[Jul. 4, 2009] BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. --- After two nights of bulls besting cowboys, the July 4th performance of the Belle Fourche Round Up finally saw two scores, and they both won in their home state of South Dakota.
Rorey Maier from Timber Lake, left here atop the leaderboard with an 89-point effort aboard DH&T Rodeo’s Surefire. It was worth $2,559 that will count towards Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world standings and Badlands Circuit points. Tater Hins from Huron, was close behind with an 85 on Powder River Rodeo’s Fired Up. He got $1,962. Because these men were the only two to ride, they also got to split the rest of the prize money. The additional $2,004 doesn’t count in the standings, but will certainly help their checkbooks.
Prayers for David Key & Tammy Key Fischer & Family (Update June 29)[Jun. 27, 2009] The Rodeo Family is sadden of the news that David Key PRCA Team Roper known to many as The Million Dollar Cowboy 8x NFR Qualifier & Tammy Key Fischer, WPRA barrel racer and NFR qualifier in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2008, lost their son Riley Key on Saturday, June 27th in a tragic pickup accident. All of us at Rodeo Attitude extend our deepest sympathy and extend our prayers for their family and friends.
Donnie Gay takes charge of Red River Rodeo[May 20, 2009] After sponsoring the Red River Rodeo for the past 51 years, the Wichita County Mounted Patrol is handing the reins over to one of the greatest in the game.
Donnie Gay, an eight-time world champion bull rider, has taken on the job of producing the June 4-6 rodeo.
PRCA Rodeo Scene No Easy Drive[Apr. 15, 2009] The last thing a person wants to do is fail at an expensive aspect of their profession and then roll halfway across the country and pay to give it another try, yet that happens to be the everyday reality of a PRCA cowboy looking to make a few dollars.
Look out everybody, here comes Brazile[Apr. 5, 2009] Trevor Brazile’s bid for a record-tying seventh all-around world championship is starting to gain momentum.
The Decatur cowboy earned $9,506 at last weekend’s Walker County Fair Association Rodeo in Huntsville. He finished in the money in team roping, tie-down roping and steer roping on his way to claiming the all-around buckle at the Walker County Fairgrounds.
With partner Patrick Smith, Brazile won the third round of the team roping in 4.9 seconds. He won Round 2 of the tie-down roping with a rodeo-best time of 7.6 seconds and finished tied for third in the average in 27.8 seconds on three head.
In steer roping, he was second in the average in 33.1 seconds, a half-second behind winner Landon McClaugherty.
Rodeo cowboy's remains found in wrecked car[Apr. 4, 2009] The remains of a young rodeo cowboy missing for six weeks were found in a wrecked car in an overgrown creek bed near Stephenville, authorities said.
Danny Joe Allen, 23, of Fort Worth died after his car hit a concrete culvert, rolled and landed upside down in the creek bed, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report. Authorities said Allen, who also worked as a welder, was last seen in mid-February. By Associated Press
THE CHUTES FLEW OPEN ON A NEW RodeoHouston™ XTREME BULLS CHAMPION[Mar. 23, 2009] HOUSTON -The best bulls and cowboys faced off Sunday at RodeoHouston Xtreme Bulls, but there was only one champion at the end of 52 rides — 2007 World Champion PRCA Bull Rider, and 2007 and 2008 RodeoHouston Super Series Champion Bull Rider B.J.
