One cowboy, Brady Minor, has even been to the big show, but only as a spectator. Come Thursday night, both can begin calling themselves NFR veterans.

Rodeo to offer $1 million[Nov. 29, 2006] The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is now proof that everything is bigger and better in Texas.
Rodeo officials confirmed Tuesday that the 17-day rodeo in February will have a purse of a little more than $1 million. This comes less than two weeks after RodeoHouston announced it will pay out $1.275 million with $50,000 bonuses for event champions and $25,000 for team roping champions. By Laura E. Rodeo Insider - November 28, 2006[Nov. 28, 2006] For more than a decade, the National Cutting Horse Association World Championship Futurity and the National Finals Rodeo have concluded on the same day.
But thank goodness, that won't happen this year. The Futurity began Sunday and runs through Dec. 17 at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. The NFR begins Thursday and runs through Dec. 9 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. By BRETT HOFFMAN

Willcox roper in National Finals Rodeo[Nov. 17, 2006] It's known as the "World Series of Rodeos" - the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas - and Willcox will be well represented by native son Colter Todd.
Timberman advances to NFR[Nov. 17, 2006] Three Wyoming rodeo competitors are in the National Finals Rodeo by the slimmest of margins.
Most notably, Mills' Kelly Timberman, the 2004 world bareback riding champion, finished 15th in this year's bareback standings, barely good enough to qualify for the NFR. The top 15 competitors in each event qualify for the NFR, which starts Nov. 30 in Las Vegas.
