Manuel Henry Enos[Aug. 12, 2008] In 1939, Manuel joined the Cowboys Turtle Association, the forerunner of the PRCA. Manuel was proud of the fact that he placed in every major rodeo in the country and that he usually entered four events.
Ariat Playoffs on FSN, Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Championship on CBS[Jul. 23, 2008] Fox Sports Net (FSN) is scheduled to begin televising the action from the 2008 Wrangler ProRodeo Tour and Ariat Playoffs the week of Sept. 1. The popular Ariat Playoffs format will continue in 2008 with three telecasts hosted by the Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo. The first featuring the preliminary round action of the Ariat Playoffs - Caldwell Round, with the second telecast highlighting the semifinal round featuring the top eight in the tw-head aggregate and the third telecast will highlight the final four competitors. Joe Kusek: PRCA makes moves to strengthen rodeo circuit system[Jun. 23, 2008] Approximately 7,000 cowboys compete at Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned events across the United States and in Canada. That staggering number doesn't include the cowgirls who compete in barrel racing at the same events.
Cooper twins skyrocket to the top of the leaderboard at Reno Rodeo[Jun. 22, 2008] The Cooper twins made their first appearance at the “big dance” known as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo last year and with team roping runs like they turned in on Saturday night at the Reno Rodeo, they will be back there this December. Bello rides Hill Top to lead the 89th annual Reno Rodeo on opening night[Jun. 21, 2008] Australian turned Utah cowboy Anthony Bello had a great opening night at the 89th annual Reno Rodeo riding Rosser Rodeo's Hill Top for 86 points. Bello, who currently resides in Oakley and won the 2007 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo, edged Justin Arnold of Santa Margarita, Calif., by one point to take the early lead in the saddle bronc riding. Arnold posted an 85 on Flying U Rodeo’s Sam’s Town. Both cowboys will be back on Saturday night during the second performance of the Reno Rodeo for their second round horse and they hope to at least equal or improve on their first round score to secure their spot in the final round on June 28. Rodeo contractor defends use of prods[Jun. 20, 2008] HARD wants to penalize the rodeo association and animal supplier Flying U Rodeo Co. for violating its rules during the May 17-18 event. The association and Flying U owner Cotton Rosser said they are challenging the decision, based on state and national standards.
Xtreme Bulls: Silcox tops the class of Bulls riders[Jun. 18, 2008] Wes Silcox came into last year's Dodge Xtreme Bulls stop in Reno in 22nd place in the world standings and on a cold streak. He left Reno 10 days later with nearly $30,000 in his pocket, the No. 4 spot in the standings and on a roll that would lead him to his first world championship.
Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Hires French/West/Vaughan[Jun. 3, 2008] French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation’s largest independent public relations, public affairs and brand communications agencies, today announced it has been named agency-of-record by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). The PRCA is the premier governing body of professional rodeo in the United States, sanctioning more than 600 rodeos across the country each year.
PRCA qualifier chases destiny atop old mare[May 29, 2008] Thirteen months ago, Stran Smith's prize roping horse, Topper, died from a hit-and-run accident after wandering onto U.S. Highway 287 in front of the world-class roper's Childress home. But Smith, a nine-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tie-down roping qualifier, has more than replaced his former American Quarter Horse Association world champion with a younger quarter horse named Destiny.

World, DNCFR champions headline 2008 Pocatello field[Feb. 25, 2008] The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced the field of contestants who have qualified for the 2008 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo (DNCFR) presented by U. S. Smokeless Tobacco on March 19-22, at the Holt Arena at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. The DNCFR is the crowning event of the PRCA’s 12 circuit system of regional competition.
