Salinas, CA - July 16, 2009- The Professional Bull Riding US Smokeless Tobacco Challenger Tour event held on Wednesday July 15th was a crowd pleaser as almost 5,000 people witnessed man versus beast at it’s best. Forty-two of the top professional bull riders in the US gathered at the Salinas Sports Complex to hang on for 8 seconds for their shot to win part of the $35,000 purse. California cowboys like Mark Lopes and A.J. Hamre were part of the action and Brian Potter, rodeo specialty entertainer, was on hand with funny acts and dance moves. Bull Rider Hugo Pedrero from Guanguato, Brazil came out on top by one point with a combined score of 171.5 points on two bulls. Second place was won by Corey Navarre from Sulpher, Louisiana with a score of 170.5; third place was won by Travis Briscoe of Edgewood, New Mexico with a score of 170.0 and fourth place was won by Jimmy Anderson of Bayfield, Colorado with a score of 86.0 on one bull.
