Briscoe scores 93.25 to win in Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. (April 25, 2010) - Scoring an event-best 93.25 points on Paycheck (Hyland Cattle Company) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Sunday, Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) won the elite Built Ford Tough Series Nile Invitational presented by Cooper Tires at the Rimrock Auto Arena at Metrapark.

It is the first victory of the season for Briscoe, who had 354.75 points on four bulls to take home $29,904 and move into second place in the PBR Built Ford Tough Series season standings. Briscoe also won a $1,000 bonus from Tire Rama when he rode Fully Loaded (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) for 88.25 points in Round 3, marking the third straight day that the bounty was claimed.

Renato Nunes (Buritama, SP, Brazil) moved into first place in the BFTS season standings after finishing third with 344.25 points. Nunes was second in the championship round with 91.75 points on Chicken on a Chain (Robinson/Tedesco/Larry the Cable Guy). Ned Cross (Midland, Ore.) finished second in the average with 346.25 points on four bulls, including a third-place finish in the championship round with 88 points on Unabomber (Robinson/Eno/Kubinchak).

Silvano Alves (Pilar do Sul, SP, Brazil) finished fourth with 341.75 points after riding all four bulls. He is now a perfect eight-for-eight in the BFTS and two weeks ago he won his first-ever event in Nampa, Idaho. J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) finished fifth in the average with 265.25 points and moves up from sixth to fourth in the BFTS season standings while Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) slips to third and Ryan McConnell (Colgate, Okla.) to fifth.

The Top 10 riders in the world are separated by just under 2,100 points and the five leaders are only 729 points apart.

Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus:The Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus was not claimed and will be $15,000 at the Des Moines Invitational presented by Midwest Ford in Des Moines, Iowa on April 30 and May 1. The bonus grows by $5,000 each week if it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.

Travis Briscoe has a concussion and is probable for next weekend. J.B. Mauney aggravated a preexisting knee injury and is probable for next weekend. Beau Hill has a concussion and is doubtful for next weekend. Ben Jones has a possible broken right wrist and will get X-rays. L.J. Jenkins is out for next weekend with an injured right hand.
