McBride takes round win and records one of the top three highest scored rides in 2008.

TULSA, Okla. (July 19, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) thrilled the sold-out Tulsa Convention Center at the Express Classic presented by Creek Nation Casino in Tulsa, Okla. The crowd got their money’s worth as they watched two-time and reigning PBR World Champion Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.) take the round two victory when he rode Gnash of Rafter 7R Bucking Bulls and scored 93.75 points. McBride earned $2,730 and is currently leading the event standings with a total of 181.25 points on two bulls. McBride’s second round score is the third highest scored ride in 2008.

Taking second place in round two was Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) who scored 90.5 points on Page & Teague Bucking Bulls’ Crossfire Hurricane. Third place went to Nebraska bull rider Dustin Elliott (North Platte, Neb.) who took on Smash Hit, owned by Diamond S / ExclusiveGenetics.com, for 89 points. Leading Rookie of the Year contender Reese Cates (Carthage, TX) earned 88.75 points and a fourth place finish on Move It of Diamond K Bucking Bulls.

As the winner of round one at the Express Classic presented by Creek Nation Casino in Tulsa, Okla., Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round two. Shivers bucked off of the bull, Shane; consequently, the stock contractors, Hebert Bucking Bulls, collected the $5,000 bonus.

New to the BFTS season is the Zantrex-3 Insta-Shot Grudge Match. The third match-up of 2008 showcased 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, TX) versus close friend and hand-picked opponent, Dustin Hall (Springfield, Mo.). Lee chose to ride the bull, Mr. Zantrex (D&H Cattle Co.), leaving Hall with Page & Teague Bucking Bulls’ Hustler. Lee rode Mr. Zantrex for 89 points while Hall fell off Hustler; therefore, Lee collected the $15,000 prize money. The next Zantrex-3 Insta-Shot Grudge Match will take place in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday, July 25 with the winner of the 2008 Express Classic presented by Creek Nation Casino going head to head against a rider of his choice. $5,000 will be up for grabs.

The Express Classic presented by Creek Nation Casino continues tomorrow as the world’s best bull riders compete in round three and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to see who will take home the coveted Tulsa event title. Catch the exciting conclusion when it airs on VERSUS on Sunday, August 3rd at 6:00 p.m. EST!!
