Idaho cowboy Wiley Petersen takes his first BFTS win of the 2009 season.
St. LOUIS, Mo. (March 1, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) took the top 40 bull riders in the world to the Show Me State for three performances of non-stop action on February 27-March 1. At stop #12 on the prestigious Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), PBR fan favorite Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho) left St. Louis’ Scottrade Center victorious after totaling 348 points on four bulls and took home the coveted Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational event title, pocketing a check for $33,953.40.
“I’m feeling good, riding great, and having fun,” Petersen said in his winner’s circle interview. “I just want to praise God and give all the glory and honor to him all the time.
The PBR fan favorite joked, “I’m never going to wash these jeans again.”
In round one, Petersen scored 86.5 points on Robinson/BrokenN-N/Jeffrey Scott/Larry the Cable Guy/Gary Blythe’s bull, Smokey, finishing fourth place in the round. He followed that up with an 86.75 point ride on the bull, What I Say, owned by Hebert Bucking Bulls, in round two and an 86 point ride on Boyd/Floyd Bull Company’s Kabookie in the third round. Petersen went into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round in first place and chose to ride the bull, Pearl Snap, owned by Boyd/Floyd Bull Company. He tamed the bull for 88.75 points, leaving him in fourth place in the round, but first place in the average. Petersen totaled 348 points and was one of only three men to ride all four of his bulls over the three-day event.
Team Enterprise rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) finished second overall after totaling 347.5 points. He added $16,494.40 to his bank account and moved into first place in the 2009 Built Ford Tough World Standings. Taking third place was Zack Brown (Santa Fe, Texas) who totaled 345.75 points and received a check for $11,145.40 while Oregon’s Cody Ford (Stanfield, Ore.) finished fourth with 265 points on three bulls and $9,440.40. Round out fifth place was PBR veteran and fan favorite Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.) who left Missouri with a total of 261 points and walked away with a check for $5,270.40.
The race for PBR’s million dollar world title takes the top 40 bull riders to Kansas City, Missouri for the Kansas City Invitational, stop #13 on the prestigious BFTS tour. Brian Canter (Randleman, N.C.) strained his left groin and is out for next weekend’s event.
Jimmy Tubbs (Greenbrier, Ark.) injured his neck and went to the emergency room for x-rays.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s “Ride with the Best” Bonus:
Due to his round one win at last weekend’s Glendale Invitational in Glendale, Ariz., Cody Ford (Stanfield, Ore.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational. Ford did not make the whistle on the bull, Sleepy Cat; therefore, the stock contractor, David Day, took home the $5,000 bonus.
As the winner of round one win at last night’s Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational, PBR superstar J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round two of the St. Louis event. Mauney did not make the whistle on the bull, Bad Action; therefore, the stock contractors, Chad Berger/Slay Struve, took home the $5,000 bonus.
Due to his round two victory, Brazilian superstar and Team Enterprise rider Renato Nunes (Buritama, SP, Brazil) was eligible for the bonus during round three of the St. Louis event. Nunes did not make the eight second whistle on the bull, Party Time; therefore, the stock contractors, Hebert Bucking bulls/Georgia Akers, received the $5,000 bonus.
As the winner of round three at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational, Bryan Richardson (Dallas, Texas) will be eligible for the bonus during round one at the 30th BFTS stop in Kansas City, Mo.
Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus:|
Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho) was in the lead going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and won the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational and collected the $5,000 bonus. The bonus will e $5,000 at the next event in Kansas City, Mo. It grows by $5,000 each week if it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.
Ford F-150 Challenge:
As the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational event winner, Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho) has qualified for a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, against all other 2009 Built Ford Tough Series event winners. The Ford F-150 Challenge contestant who finishes the highest in the event aggregate during the 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will win a brand-new 2009 F-150 truck.
Salem NationaLease Bull of the Event:
The bull, Chicken on a Chain, owned by Robinson/Tedesco/Larry the Cable Guy/Broken N-N, earned Bull of the Event honors with a score of 46.25 points. This honor is acknowledged by an award of $1,250 going to the top bull of each event as determined by the PBR judges’ bull score.
High-Marked Ride of the Event:
Team Enterprise Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) recorded the high-marked ride of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Invitational in St. Louis, Mo., during the Built Ford Tough Championship Round after riding Ft. Worth, owned by Circle T Ranch & rodeo, for 90.5 points.
Daisy Rookie of the Year Standings:
The 2009 Daisy Rookie of the Year race is heating up and young gun Skeeter Kingsolver (Mclouth, Kan.) has taken the early lead. A rider is considered a rookie in the year he debuts on the elite Built Ford Tough Series tour. The Daisy Rookie is determined by the rider who has won the most money during the year at all PBR events including Challenger events, International events, BFTS events, and the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.
