Three riders split fourth, fifth, and sixth place after each scored 88.75 points. Ryan McConnel (Colgate, Okla.) rode the bull, Foolish Pride, owned by Diamond S Bucking Bulls); current world no. 1 bull rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) took on Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s Live Wire; and BFTS alternate Clayton Baethge (Johnson City, Texas) rode Scaredy Cat, owned by Chad Berger/Denny Hawks.
Due to his round two win at last weekend’s Tacoma Invitational, Team Enterprise rider Brian Canter (Randleman, N.C.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Ty Murray Invitational. Because of his qualified ride on the bull, Carolina Cat, owned by Walton & Wagoner Bucking Bulls, Canter was awarded the $5,000 bonus. As the winner of round two, Canter will be eligible for the $5,000 bonus during round two of the competition.
Tomorrow the top 40 bull riders will draft their round two bull at the Sandia Resort & Casino’s Tlur Pa Lounge at 11 a.m. Round winner Canter will pick first while the other 39 bull riders follow in succession based on their round one scores. After all of the riders who received scores have selected their bulls, the riders will select their bulls based on their buck-off times with the quickest buck-off time picking last.
The Ty Murray Invitational continues tomorrow as the world’s best bull riders compete in round two. Tune-in to VERSUS at 8 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 28 where round two will air LIVE and on Sunday, March 29 at 8 p.m. EST on VERSUS.
