JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 20, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) made its way to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Built Ford Tough Shootout, the 28th stop on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) tour. Fans were treated to two action-packed performances of exciting rides and wrecks at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. When the dust settled, J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) found himself in the winner’s circle for the second weekend in a row and added $28,958 to his pocketbook.

“This last month I’ve felt better than I have in a long time,” Mauney said. “I’m only here to win first and I was really trying to keep things going from last weekend’s event.”

Mauney split second and third in round one after riding Renegade Rodeo’s Gray Spot for 88.5 points. In round two, he covered the bull, Little Feller, owned by Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls for 86.25 points, giving him 174.75 points and tied for second place going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round. He added 87.75 points after taking on Robinson/Larry the Cable Guy’s top bull, Gappy Joe, putting him at the top of the leader board with a total of 262.5 points on three bulls. With this win, Mauney jumped from 4th to 3rd place in the BFTS point standings, helping him close the gap between him and number one bull rider in the world Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil).

Second place went to alternate Harve Stewart (Stephenville, Texas) who covered all three of his bulls and finished the weekend with 251.25 points. Stewart covered his round one bull, Texas Tea (James Deboard) for 82.75 points. He added another 83.5 points after riding Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls’ The Captain and then covered his short-go bull, Super Duece (Carter/Tedesco) for 85 points, leaving him with a total of 251.25 points and second place overall. Stewart left Jacksonville with a check for $13,533 which moved him from 45th place in qualifier money to 34th, helping him in his efforts to qualify for the 2008 PBR World Finals.

Third place at the Built Ford Tough Shootout went to Canadian rider Aaron Roy (Asquith, SK, Canada) who finished the weekend with 248.75 points on three bulls and added $10,125 to his pocketbook. This was Roy’s second top 5 finish in the last two weekends. Fourth place went to Dustin Elliott (North Platte, Neb.) who left Florida with $9,975 and the high-marked ride of the weekend after scoring 90.5 points on Red Bull (Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC), leaving him with a total of 178.75 points. Rounding out fifth place was Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) who totaled 175.75 points and added $17,080 to his 2008 World Standings.

The race for PBR’s million dollar world title takes the top 45 bull riders in the world to Oakland, Calif., on September 26-27 for the PBR Out of the Chute Invitational. The VERSUS network airs PBR events every Saturday and Sunday evening. Be sure to check www.pbrnow.com for upcoming cities, ticket information, and complete broadcast times.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s “Ride with the Best” Bonus:
As the winner of round two at the U.S. Border Patrol Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, Team Enterprise rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Built Ford Tough Shootout in Jacksonville. Lostroh covered the bull Chance, owned by Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC, for 90 points and took home the $5,000 bonus.

The Built Ford Tough Shootout round one winner, Lostroh was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during the second round of competition in Jacksonville. Lostroh rode the bull, Brimstone (Cary McNeil), for 85.75 points and was awarded the $5,000 bonus. As the winner of round two, Colby Yates (Fort Worth, Texas) will be eligible for the bonus next weekend in Oakland, Calif.

Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus:
Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) was in the lead going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and ultimately did not win the Built Ford Tough Shootout event title. As the $10,000 bonus was not claimed, it will increase to $15,000 at the PBR Out of the Chute Invitational in Oakland, Calif., on September 26-27. The bonus grows by $5,000 each week if it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.

Ford Super Duty Challenge:
As the winner of the Built Ford Tough Shootout, J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) has qualified for a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, against all other 2008 Built Ford Tough Series event winners, for $50,000 toward the purchase of a 2009 Ford Super Duty Truck. The Ford Super Duty Challenge contestant who finishes the highest in the event aggregate during the 2008 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will win the Ford Super Duty Challenge.

Salem NationaLease Bull of the Event:
Bones, owned by Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC, earned Bull of the Event honors with a score of 45.25 points in Jacksonville. This honor is acknowledged by an award of $1,250 going to the top bull of each event as determined by the PBR judges’ bull score.

Cabela’s World’s Foremost Ride:
Dustin Elliott (North Platte, Neb.) recorded the highest marked ride of the event when he scored 90.5 points after taking on Red Bull, owned by Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC, during the Built Ford Tough Championship Round of the Built Ford Tough Shootout. Consequently, he earned a $1,000 bonus.

The rider who achieves the highest score at each BFTS regular season event, excluding the PBR World Finals receives a bonus of $1,000 for the accomplishment. The PBR athlete who achieves the highest marked qualifying ride during the entire 2008 BFTS regular season, excluding the PBR World Finals event will receive $25,000, while second and third place finishers will be awarded $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
