
ANAHEIM, Calif. (February 21, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) sold out the Honda Center on Saturday night as the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) bucked into Anaheim, California, for back-to-back stops on the West Coast. On stop #10 on the prestigious tour, fans were treated to the 40 best bull riders in the world, all competing against top bulls from across the country. In the end, Colorado superstar Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) emerged victorious after scoring 264.25 points on three bulls, taking home the coveted Anaheim Invitational event title. Lostroh added $29,240 dollars to his bank account as well as valuable points to his 2009 Built Ford Tough Series World Standings.
“What drives me is my love for the sport,” expressed Lostroh during his winner’s circle interview. “That and being able to ride in front of such great fans is just icing in the cake.”
In round one, Lostroh won second place with a score of 87.75 points on Jeff Robinson/Anchor Bull Company’s bull, Encore. He followed that up by splitting second/third/fourth place in round two after riding the bull, Wrangler Big Rig, owned by Jeff Robinson/Broken N-N/C&D Bulls/Skyhawk Rugs for another 87.75 points. He entered the Built Ford Tough Championship Round with a total of 175.5 points, where he picked the bull, Beer Goggles, owned by Don Kish Bucking Bulls in the PBR Bull Draft. Lostroh covered the animal athlete for 88.75 points and locked up his second event title for the 2009 BFTS season.
“California has been good to me this year after winning Fresno a month ago and now taking the win here in Anaheim,” stated Lostroh. “I guess the West Coast is just my time zone.”
Taking second place in Anaheim was PBR veteran Brendon Clark (Morpeth, AUS) who scored a total of 263 points, adding $14,426 to his bank account. Finishing third was Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) who totaled 255.5 points on three bulls and collected a check for $9,068 while Canadian cowboy Aaron Roy (Asquith, SK, Canada) rode for 248.25 points and took home $5,656. Rounding out fifth place was 2009 Daisy Rookie of the Year contender Skeeter Kingsolver (Mclouth, Kan.) who scored 179.5 points in Anaheim and added $8,402 to his 2009 earnings.
The race for PBR’s million dollar world title takes the top 40 bull riders in the world to Arizona for stop #11 on the prestigious BFTS tour. Ednei Caminhas (P. Alves, SP, Brazil) injured his right shoulder when he was bucked off in round two. He will receive x-rays on Monday and his return to competition is questionable.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s “Ride with the Best” Bonus:
Due to his round three win at the Express Classic, PBR young gun Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Okla.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Anaheim Invitational. Because he was bucked off before the eight second whistle after taking on the bull, Charmed I’m Sure, the stock contractor, Diamond G Rodeos, Inc, was awarded the $5,000 bonus.
Bryan Richardson (Dallas, TX) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round two of the Anaheim Invitational after his round one win in California. Richardson rode the bull, Encore, owned by Jeff Robinson/Anchor Bull Company for 87.25 points; therefore, he collected the $5,000 bonus check.
As the winner of round two, Mike White (De Kalb. Texas) will be eligible for the bonus during round one at the 11th BFTS stop in Glendale, Arizona.
Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus:
Bryan Richardson (Dallas, TX) was in the lead going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and ultimately did not win the Anaheim Invitational. As the $25,000 bonus was not claimed, it will increase to $30,000 at Sunday’s Glendale Invitational. The bonus grows by $5,000 each week if it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.
Ford F-150 Challenge:
As the Anaheim Invitational event winner, Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) has qualified for a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals against all other 2009 Built Ford Tough Series event winners. The Ford F-150 Challenge contestant who finishes the highest in the event aggregate during the 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will win a brand-new 2009 F-150 truck.
Salem NationaLease Bull of the Event:
The bull, Firebird, owned by Big Bend/Flying 5 Rodeo Co., earned Bull of the Event honors with a score of 46.125 points in California. This honor is acknowledged by an award of $1,250 going to the top bull of each event as determined by the PBR judges’ bull score.
