Mauney Claims First Event Win of the 2008 Professional Bull Riders Season![Sep. 15, 2008] The U.S. Border Patrol Invitational presented by Cooper Tires treated fans to two action packed evenings of the best bull riding in the world. In its ninth consecutive year in Grand Rapids, Mich., the 27th stop of the elite Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS)...North Carolina fan favorite bull rider J.B. PBR Minor League Tour Results TOUR for Aug. 15-17 and Upcoming Events[Aug. 19, 2008] The Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) minor league tours continued an intense travel schedule for up and coming bull riders this past weekend. 2008 PBR World Cup First Night Results Are In!!![Aug. 17, 2008] The first night of the 2008 PBR World Cup, held in the Cowboy Capitol of Mexico, Chihuahua, provided plenty of action for the packed crowd in the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gymnasium. Finishing in first place was Team Canada with a total score of 426.5 points; Team USA ended in second for the evening with 353.5 points; 2007 World Cup Champions, Team Brazil, in third with 340.25 points; home country bull riders, Team Mexico, finished in fourth with 244.25 points; and rounding out fifth was Team Australia with 88.25 points. Clayton Williams wins his first BFTS event[Aug. 11, 2008] The cowboys made their way to Glendale, Arizona for the 25th stop on the BFTS tour, the Built Ford Tough Invitational. We are in the home stretch now, with only seven events left before the World Finals. By Barbara Pinnella
Canter Sidelined for Six to Eight Weeks[Aug. 5, 2008] Young PBR superstar Brian Canter (Randleman, N.C.) was injured on Sunday, August 3, 2008 in Paso Robles, Calif., during the second stop of the PBR Team Shootout presented by Ford Trucks. Canter had successfully ridden the bull, Hummer (Steve Cosca Bucking Bulls) for 88.5 points in the fourth section of competition when he was jerked down and stepped on as he was trying to dismount. He was knocked unconscious and received a 6 to 7-inch laceration to the back of his head. He also received a broken jaw from the impact of hitting the ground. By Linsay Rosser, PBR
