The morning line: Tulsa, Round 3

TULSA, Okla. (July 18, 2010) - With two rounds in the books, Zack Brown is looking unstoppable. He’s drawn well in this round, too.

Round 3 is mostly the ABBI bulls from Round 1, with a couple of notable exceptions. These young bulls took it out on the riders Friday night – allowing only nine qualified rides.

Round 2 Matchups:

L.J. Jenkins on 514 Top Notch:
This bull is the only bull in this round (I think) that is not a 3- or 4-year old. He is almost short-round quality, and is a great draw for Jenkins, who is 2-for-2 already here in Tulsa. Top Notch can deliver 90 points, and is a better draw for right-handed riders. Jenkins hasn’t faced him before, and this will be worth watching.

Chris Shivers on 625 RMEF Elk Country:
This bull made his debut in Round 1 with Wagner Luciano, and was absolutely outstanding. Shivers rode a very good Jeff Robinson bull last night, but this one should be a bigger challenge.

Dustin Elliott on 610 Ice T&D:
Elliott hasn’t had any luck this weekend, but his luck is about to change. This is the bull Harve Stewart was 87.5 on in Round 1, and he should fit Dustin really well.

Renato Nunes on 64S Flirtin’ With Disaster:
This is a good match for Nunes, and he should be able to get to the whistle for the second night in a row.

Ben Jones on 13/6 Bushwhacker:
This is one of the premier matchups of the night simply because Bushwhacker is worth watching every time. I think it’s extremely unlikely that Jones will make the whistle, but nothing is impossible. Bushwhacker was just spectacular in Round 1.

McKennon Wimberly on 632 Copp Hou:
Copp Hou is one bull who will be on my list just about every time he appears, because he is an outstanding draw in any round. He’s honest, and bucks well enough to win rounds on, and he fits most riders. Wimberly is 0-for-2 on the weekend, but he’s capable of getting a big score here.

J.B. Mauney on D54 High Noon:
Mauney hasn’t done that well this weekend. His bull in Round 1 looked pretty difficult to ride, and in Round 2 he also had it tough. However, this bull was pretty nice in Round 1 with Mark Lopes, and if he does the same thing, Mauney should ride him with ease.

Zack Brown on 601 Powerline:
Powerline got Ned Cross in Round 1, but there was nothing particularly tricky about him – he just bucked hard. The way Brown is riding, look for him to get another score.

Ned Cross on 61 Moon:
Ned Cross has certainly drawn at the top of the herd here in Tulsa, and this bull was marked higher than Bushwhacker in Round 1. Cross had Powerline in Round 1, an outstanding trip from Heebee Geebee in Round 2, and the weekend isn’t over yet.

Austin Meier on 73 Flashpoint:
Like Top Notch, Flashpoint isn’t one of the ABBI bull competing tonight. He’s ridden about 75 percent of the time by the top PBR riders, and Meier himself is 3-for-3 against him. Their most recent meeting was in Tampa, Fla., in January.
