SAN ANTONIO (August 1, 2010) - With 18 riders getting a score last night, the ones who bucked off should be all but out of the running here, except that today’s round features some pretty tough bulls. Someone could put two great rides together today and come out on top, but it’s a long shot.

Round 2 MatchupsBrendon Clark on 518 MoeBandy.com:
Brendon had a great bull last night, and he’s got a great one today. This is a bull that you can be 90 points on, and this is a great opportunity for Brendon Clark to shine.

Cody Nance on 115 Mr. Slim and Kasey Hayes on 615 Slim’s Ghost:
Both these guys placed high in last night’s round, and both of them have very similar bulls today. In fact, these two bulls are more alike than any two bulls that have ever appeared on tour. They are clones of 1997 PBR World Champion Bull Panhandle Slim. Neither has very much history, but they have been marked high where they have competed. 115 Mr. Slim appeared at Glendale, Ariz., and was not ridden, and this is the PBR debut for 615 Slim’s Ghost. Caleb Sanderson rode Mr. Slim last August at a Touring Pro Event for 84.5 points.

Valdiron de Oliveira on 03 Black Smoke:
Black Smoke now has 125 outs to his credit, and he’s faced the best riders in the world more than 60 times. However, I doubt he has learned anything that will help him get Oliveira on the ground today. This may not be the round win, but will likely place high. Black Smoke is no pushover, and Oliveira will have to work to get him ridden.

Wiley Petersen on 514 Top Notch:
This is one of the highest marked bulls in the round, and Petersen can make up some ground on the event leaders if he can get the job done here.

Paulo Lima on 911 Ground Zero:
With the event lead, Lima just needs any kind of score, but Ground Zero will be a tougher test than what he faced last night. This is a bull who can produce a 90-point ride, but he’s only been ridden once – by Kody Lostroh in Arlington, Texas.

Renato Nunes on 501 Pistolero:
If anyone who bucked off last night is going to make a move today, this could be it. Pistolero can be good enough to top almost all the scores from last night, and could allow Nunes to sneak into the short round if he can make the whistle. Unlike a lot of guys, Nunes looked pretty healthy last night, even though he came down.

Other riders who have a good chance to get a second score include Dustin Elliott, Sanderson, Jason O’Hearn, and Sevi Torturo.
