
GREENVILLE, S.C. (September 10, 2010) -
Texas native Pistol Robinson took home Round 1 of the Greenville Invitational presented by Pike Energy Solutions. Robinson made the buzzer on Iron Broke (Walton/Wagoner/Kerr Bucking Bulls) for 89.5 points and the round win. Tying for second and third place were Sean Willingham, from Summerville, Ga., on D&H Cattle Company's Marmaduke and Missouri bull rider Travis Sellers on Monty the Bull (D&H Cattle Company/Matt & Christie Teutenberg). Willingham and Sellers both received 88 points for their rides.
Fourth place went to Australian Ben Jones after he stayed on Too Tall (D&H Cattle Company) for 87.75 points.There was a 3-way tie for fifth, sixth and seventh places between Brazilians Paulo Lima and Robson Palermo, and Australian Brendon Clark. Lima rode Big Easy (Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC), Palermo stayed on Larry the Cable Guy’s Smokey (Jeff Robinson/Jeffrey Scott/Pinnacle Bull Group) and Clark made the buzzer on Itch & Scratch (Box K Cattle). All three scored 87.5 points.
The first round of the Final Five Showdown went to North Carolina rider J.B. Mauney, with a score of 86.5 points on Red Devil (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo). Coming in second in the bonus round was McKennon Wimberly of Cool, Texas on Chance (Teague Bucking Bulls, LLC) for 86 points. Third place in the round went to Brazilian Guilherme Marchi, who received 84.75 points on Frosty (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo). Coming in fourth was Decatur, Texas rider Mike Lee, riding Despicable Me (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) for 81 points.
