
PUEBLO, Colo. (July 27, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) will set San Antonio, Texas on fire as the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour heads into town! The AT&T Center will host two performances of non-stop action on August 1-2. In stop no. 24 on the prestigious tour, the top 40 bull riders in the world will compete against the toughest bulls the PBR has to offer, all riding to win the coveted event title. Action from the Bud Light Invitational presented by Cooper Tires will get underway on Saturday at 6:50 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Topping the list of competitors are current no. 1 bull rider in the world Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo); PBR superstars J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.), Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Okla.), and Zack Brown (Santa Fe, Texas); fan favorites Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho), Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.), and “Titanium Tough” cowboy Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) who is competing in his 258th consecutive event; and 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas). Each of these top cowboys will ride alongside the reigning PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil).
The Bud Light Invitational presented by Cooper Tires consists of three rounds of competition with the first two rounds featuring the top 40 bull riders randomly matched against the PBR’s toughest bulls. The riders with the top 15 scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round after intermission on Sunday and in the end, the cowboy with the highest total score on three bulls will be declared the winner!

The San Antonio event will be one of the featured stops on the 2009 Bull Team Challenge Tour where fourteen teams are competing for their a total tour purse of over $500,000. In stop number seven of nine, the Bull Team Challenge will present $10,000 to the team whose total score is the highest for the weekend and $5,000 to the second-highest scoring team.
