The PBR's reigning top athletes face off in a $20,000 wager.
PUEBLO, Colo. (January 26, 2009) - Not one to shy away from a friendly bet, PBR Board Member and Stock Contractor Tom Teague is putting his money where his mouth is to the tune of $20,000 next weekend for the sixth stop on the 2009 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS). The East Coast event is set to go down on Teague’s turf in Winston-Salem, N.C., on January 30-31 for the Copenhagen Bull Riding Invitational presented by Pike Electric at the Lawrence Joel Veteran's Memorial Coliseum. Teague has joined forces with good friend and COO of the Dallas Cowboys, Steve Jones, to challenge reigning World Champion Guilherme Marchi in a head-to-head battle with Teague’s 2008 World Champion Bull, Bones, for one ride and hard cash.
Marchi has already fallen victim to Bones on two previous occasions during the 2008 season including during the short-go of the 2008 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. Both encounters left the world’s premier bull rider in the dirt. Needless to say, the dominating Brazilian has a score to settle, and the impressive ante may just be the incentive Marchi needs to cover this notorious bovine for the full eight seconds, once and for all.
Don’t miss the showdown airing on NBC on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 4:30 P.M. (EST) as the PBR’s two reigning World Champions battle it out for $20,000 and bragging rights as the sport’s ultimate athlete. Will Marchi manage to overcome the impossible this weekend? As he put it, Bones is after all, “just a bull”.
The PBR is the premiere bull riding organization in the world, boasting contestants from the United States, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Canada.
