PBR Bull Draft

PUEBLO, Colo. (December 31, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) will continue the successful PBR Bull Draft throughout the 2009 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) season. During every Built Ford Tough Championship Round, or Short-Go, of the regular season, the top fifteen bull riders will draft the final bull that they will get on at the event with the rider who is in the lead picking his bull first. This selection process will happen during intermission and includes not only three-day events, but two and one-day events as well.

The draft process for three-day events will stay the same as 2008. The bull rider who wins round one will pick his bull first for the second round and is followed in succession by the remaining 44 contestants based on scores. After all of the riders who received scores have selected their bulls, the riders will select their bulls based on their buck-off times with the quickest buck-off time picking last.

The 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will also showcase the draft system with the top 40 riders in the world choosing which bull they will take on in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds. The bulls they will get on during the 1st, 4th, and 8th round will be drawn randomly.

The PBR is the premier bull riding organization in the world, boasting contestants from Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Canada. Its events air weekly on VERSUS, NBC, and FOX and in recent years it has been tagged the ‘fastest growing sport in the country’.
